Massage LMT & Taiji Instructor

I usually offer sessions of one, one and a half, or two hours.  Yes, some people request two hours.  We can accumulate a lot of tension and baggage.  Some physical maladies may require substantial, integrated work.  An hour is usually sufficient for stress reduction.  If I am already on-site, you may talk me into a half hour massage, or a chair massage.  I work really hard to give my client's their money's worth.

'Eastern Influence' is probably the best description of my Signature Massage approach.  As an instructor and practitioner of yoga and T'ai Chi/Taiji, I have been infused with Ayurvedic and Chinese Philosophies of Health.  In my experience 'sensing hands' training of T'ai Chi/Taiji surpasses any other healing-arts, sensitivity or energetic approaches.  Many contemporary names for techniques are merely subsets of traditional Eastern methods.

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. Lotion is used with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.  Sweedish is the style most commonly offered by Salons.  It is also the most superficial of all styles.

Sports Massage has become a popular request because of my personal history of athletics and understanding the 'wear and tear' needs.  Clients seem to appreciate that I deliver a substantial massage.  This may be due to years of teaching body-mechanics, as well.

Reflexology is the only choice for some people.  It includes detailed attention to hands and feet, and maybe, lower legs, arms and ears.  I will not use the session for any diagnostic comments.  I do promise you will leave feeling lighter than when you came in. image

T'ai Chi/Taijiquan classes are taught at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Maryland and Ocean Pines Community Center, Berlin, Maryland.  Ocean Pines is a lovely outdoor location.   My friends and I often get together for sensing/push-hands sessions.  If you are just visiting, we'd love to play with you.  (Taiji practitioners know 'play' is the term used for our martial training.)
